Exploration Activity #1:
Roadtrip Nation
For my first exploration activity, I chose to take the route of research, but unlike my next activity, I researched careers instead of majors. I had the option of researching two certain careers that Roadtrip nation offered me as apart of the roadmap offered to me based upon my interests. I chose a web developer and an astronomer because of my interest in science and art. As I was researching, I was also developing a list of information on the careers so that I could easily come to the information as I needed to. I developed a four-page, well informed and designed paper on the two careers, as well as comparisons between the two. I found this exploration activity fun, but not as much as the second one due to the creative potential that it offered.
Exploration Activity #2: Marketing Your Major
My second exploration activity had me on the search for a major and plan of study that suits me. I had been interested in many majors at the time so it was somewhat difficult to choose only one for the activity. I ended up choosing to go with UX design, since I was most unfamiliar with it at the time. I was given the task of creating a brochure about the major which included information such as the plan of study, requirements, class content, and potential careers that this major entailed. I had a blast researching the industry of UX, and even more fun creating the brochure. It had such an influence on me, that I was considering UX design as a major at the time, and as time has progressed I haven't found any less interest in the major.
